The REAL History Behind Our Country’s Deficit, The Dwindling Middle Class, Tax and Joblessness Issues. Part 1

For anyone who has not voted or does not presently vote, this next series of posts may be of interest to you. The same for those who say, what do politics and voting have to do with me? Or Why should I vote?, etc. This next series may be an eye-opener. Feel free to forward or share this information with them. Remember, everything starts at the local level and that is where each individual has the most influence. I will be adding links to the sources of the facts progressively.

This is what I believe has created the current problem in The United States of America and continues to fuel our countries potential demise. Today, the deficit, the tax issue, erosion of the middle class, high prices and the unemployment problems are, for the most part, due to Republican Party decisions dating back to President Ronald Reagan. Yes, 30 + years of shaping the US economy, systematically dismantling the middle class, the corporatization of America and creating massive unemployment in America. The laws passed or not passed, enforced or not enforced and other actions have brought our country to where it is today. How can anyone imagine that the Republicans would want to lead us out of their own sacred creation? Their actions and suggestions since the 2010 election should have convinced anyone that the Republicans do not want to help anyone but the wealthy! The following is based on history and facts. This is what I believe is the real story:

Since 1980, living wage in America has not risen more than 10% while corporate profits have soared in excess of 333%. President Reagan deliberately froze wages in this great United States of America. The reason given was to “avoid a recession”. I thought Republicans believed that, a “hands off” approach was best and that Government should not meddle with the free market. How is that for “Less Government”? In my next blog or on another page, I will provide a short Republican dictionary. I will define the words Republicans use to manipulate people and what they mean verses how most people interpret them.

It was also President Reagan that began the “War on Drugs”. President Bush Sr. did his part and President Bush “W” amped it up. This “War on Drugs” has made innumerable criminals unbelievably wealthy, created more criminals, turned average young people into criminals for smoking weed and killed waaaaaaay more people than prohibition did and it was prohibition that funded and promoted the real OGs (Original Gangsters) to Gangster status by making them extremely wealthy. However, the real OGs, Capone and those of his era were children playing with toy guns compared to the guys the “War on Drugs” has created. The OGs murders are not even comparable by number to those committed by the Gangsters created by the “War on Drugs”. Who started and has grown the “War on Drugs”?, The Republicans. The dollar cost spent by Our Government with OUR TAX Money on this “War” has to be in the trillions since it began and me or my underage son can still walk out my front door not knowing anyone that uses illegal drugs and within an hour or two, probably less, have any “illegal” substance we want. My son could not buy alcohol as quickly as he could score some weed. What the hell is OUR government spending OUR tax money on?

This “War on Drugs” has become our country’s internal Vietnam. It has killed the lives of innumerable young Americans, but the draft age has been lowered to around 10 years of age. The collateral damage to innocent children, communities and families is immeasurable. This is before mentioning the cost to Americans of color and their youth whose lives have been ruined because they were caught with small amounts of a natural growing weed that could save this country’s forests and medically help unknown numbers of people. Oh, and let’s not forget the flood of Mexicans into the country running from the violence that this “War” has birthed and unbelievably fueled. These “illegals” should be given refugee status but instead they are hunted like animals and when caught, housed and treated like animals. I know this “War” costs our country hundreds of billions of dollars each year and some cities millions each year. Why doesn’t the Tea Party and the Republicans cut this senseless, self righteous, moral crusade and slaughter of Americans, Mexicans and our American youth? Modifying this one thing would take a huge chunk out of the deficit?

I apologize to those of you who have dropped in before today, only to find my August 11 post. I have recovered and will be posting weekly or more from here on.

If you have read my profile, you may understand why it’s been a couple of months since my last post, August 11, 2011. I was prevented by my health and personal issues beyond my control. I will do my best to not allow this to happen again. I am installing fail safes so posts can be made, even if I am unable to post myself. I will begin a VLOG very soon on YouTube on the ProgressiveLane channel. Thanks for coming back!

Sincerely,

Progressive Lane
