The REAL History Behind Our Country’s Deficit, Tax and Joblessness Issues. Part 2

     Keep in mind as you read this series, our government has been Republican run since the eighties, from 1981 to 1992. Then, we had The President Clinton Years, from 1993 to 2000. Even though President Regan passed a balanced budget act, in the 1980s, it was President Clinton, a Democrat that balanced the budget and handed it off to, who? A Republican, President Bush “W” in 2001 and The Republicans ruled again till 2009. In 2009 they handed President Obama the results of their “less government” policy, a MESS! President Obama hit the ground running in 2009 but the 2010 election saw the Republican Obstructionists (they like to be called the Tea Party) get elected and they halted President Obama’s progress, momentarily.

      In the eighties and nineties companies began to move their headquarters offshore to avoid paying taxes. I thought this was called TAX EVASION?  Now, according to a report done by 60 minutes that aired on 3/27/11, businesses and corporations have most recently been moving their headquarters to small countries in Europe to avoid paying taxes in America. Some of these business owners and corporate officers are even giving up their American citizenship! These companies are transferring patents and various other invaluable intellectual properties to these countries.  These businesses and corporations are doing all of this for huge profits and to avoid paying taxes in America (tax evasion: it was illegal at one time, maybe it still is, just not for the wealthy). The heads turned, laws passed or taken off the books to allow this to happen and continue, even today are all courtesy of The Republican Party in the name of cutting "big government".

     These same companies and corporations along with others have moved their production jobs and factories out of America to avoid paying American workers a fair wage and avoid paying TAXES IN AMERICA. Oh, in defense of these modern day TRAITORS, it costs them (the corporations, businesses) less to produce their products in other countries. In other words, they prefer to employ and pay other country’s citizens and other countries tax that should be AMERICAN TAXES. When production jobs, factories, even technical support or call centers, etc., leave America, so do our jobs along with the taxes the American workers would pay to help lower the deficit. The very people the Republicans are giving the tax breaks to, are taking jobs from American Citizens, leaving more Americans unemployed, more individual and corporate taxes unpaid in America and contributing to the deficit.

     The ultimate hypocrisy occurs when these same Republicans, all of the sudden decide that the Mexicans and South Americans in America are here illegally and this is America’s immediate problem and the “illegals” must go and go NOW! President Reagan, in the 1980’s, passed a law that would have dealt with illegal immigration, if enforced. Republicans have not attempted to enforce this law since it was passed. Now, that President Obama, a Democrat, is in office, “he is weak on immigration” and this problem must be handled, NOW. The over-enforcement of these laws now is another unnecessary drain contributing to the deficit and violating the civil rights of untold numbers of Hispanic Americans. One thing is certain; these people (the illegals) were and are proud to be in America. Proud to work jobs Americans are unwilling to work, for a wage that is illegal to pay an American citizen and PROUD to PAY TAXES in AMERICA! This is more than can be said for the businesses and corporations who have betrayed America by giving jobs to citizens of other countries and paying their American taxes to other countries and the Republicans and other politicians who have allowed them to do it and continue to give away American jobs and tax money to other countries. Then the Republicans and Obstructionists (who insist on being called the Tea Party) want to claim and flaunt their “patriotism”. LOL, LOLRIF… To be continued…
